ABOUT

Utsuwa is a Japanese word meaning vessel or container, such as a cup, bowl or pot. Our store serves to be a vessel of nature, an oasis for people living in urban environments.

Our work mix traditional Japanese botanical elements blended with intricate design accents. We offer terrariums, bonsai plants, orchids, succulents, dry plant decor, airplants, foliage and more.

Our first retail store opened in 2000, on a corner store in Tokyo, Japan. Since then, we have opened our first retail store in the U.S. in San Francisco in 2010 to highlight these traditional Japanese accents. After running the Japanese floral design and retail business in the Nob Hill section of San Francisco for almost 15 years, we are now located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York.
